the more I look at this quilt, the more I grow attached to it. I am calling it: Sparkling Sea Glass.
The quilt finished at 99" x 99". It was quilted by "Sew Finished" Diana Marchand in an allover pattern of vines and butterflies. The quilt is being entered in the Seaside Piecemaker's "Timeless Treasures" quilt show on March 7th and 8th.

This quilt will be a college graduation gift to my Niece. Wouldn't it be great if I could give it to her with the ribbon it wins at the show. Don't tell her, its a surprise. I am pretty sure she doesn't know her Aunt has a blog and I hope she doesn't find out until after graduation, lol.
I've started teaching two elementary school girls how to sew. I am having as much fun as they are, what a great part time job. We've worked on a few projects. The wine coasters and little wallets I showed in the last post. Then we made aprons. I will have to post pictures of my two prototypes.
The girls love to sew, both have their own machines and are learning basics by doing different projects. Our next lesson is to work on straight 1/4" seams by sewing 6 strips to make a "Scrappy Trips" block. Thanks again, Bonnie Hunter, for the free pattern. The blocks the girls are making will go
into a Scrappy Trips quilt I will make to donate to a local charity.
It's late and time for bed. My next post will be to show and tell about my classes I took recently with
Karen Kay Buckley.
